the site takes place around real time, give or take some weeks for the purpose of liquid time in threads. the setting is in west harwich, cape cod (which is in fact a real town), which is an hour or two away from boston (all in massachusetts of course). it's a beach town, slow in winter, popular in the summer. i would suggest wikipedia for some more info if you're shaky about it, but it's basically your average new england beach town.
