clothing : typically clothes worn multiple days in a row until he becomes too sweaty and gross to be mixed with the public. Not really that picky with what he wears so long as its comfortable. Boston isn't exactly one to start a new trend every week, unless hobo chic becomes a legit thing.

history:
There are some people who you meet and can tell right away are perfect for each other. Simon and Sarah were that kind of people. They met in a cafe in Boston, and started to talk only once they realized that they both came every day just to waste the hours away. Simon was there to spend the summer at an internship and Sarah was staying with her aunt for a few months. The romance was a whirlwind, but both were trying to hide what they really were for fear that the truth would mean having to end what they had. It was Simon who ended up being the one to crack under the guilt he felt for keeping such a big secret from Sarah, confessing that he came from a fairly large family of elves and that if she left he would understand. It was therefore an unmeasurable relief when Sarah told him that her father had been an elf who fell in love with her human mother. The vow to never keep secrets from one another was just the first of many vows that would create the idea of Simon and Sarah Reid.
Kids were always something the young couple wanted, no one was really surprised when Sarah was expecting about a year and a half later. This was how Boston Caleb Reid came to be, with a name matching the city that caused his parents to meet. His childhood was pretty much by the book, if not just a little too boring to fill the pages of one. A modest house, in a modest neighborhood, with very fews events standing out as extremely turbulent years for young Boston. His younger brother Tyler was born in this time, a slightly shorter and more heavy set version of Boston. This was a bright spot for Boston, since the two boys would end up spending much of their time together growing up. Because, no matter how many times their parents told them they were perfectly normal, even two young boys can pick up on the kind of things you ought to keep to yourself. So at home, they were their parents perfect sons and half of a perfect family. Out in the world, they were two boys who got along with everyone but Tyler failed to make many actual friends along the way in comparison to Boss. The younger son always had more trouble with the things that made him different, Boss tried to think of ways that they were the same.
Being an elf wasn't really all that bad, there were certainly much worse things that someone could call their deepest secret. There was no shame in what the family was, and Boss never acted like that was what he believed. The boy always thought it was a bit like seeing the world through saran wrap, certainly there but different from what the person sitting next to him saw. Boss never failed to see the world as something bright and good, the way he'd been raised to see things by his parents. Tyler was the one who seemed to ruin the scene, the detail that made the whole picture seem off. It upset Boss's parents, to see their youngest son try and rid himself of the things he had no control over, had never asked for. They tried for ages to get him to change his mind, to see all the promise in the way they were. You could have as easily asked a blind man to see because Tyler was having none of it. He left home at sixteen without ever looking back, and has yet to do more than send the occasional postcard.
This left Boston, for the first time in his life, with a problem he couldn't fix and a hole in his parent's hearts that he couldn't fill. It wasn't normal for the elves to feel the kind of grief that Simon and Sarah were, unnatural to a point. The house lost the sunshine feeling and the laughter seemed to leave quickly as if trying to go with Tyler on the bus heading anywhere. The family stopped being about what they had together and started to be about what they weren't when apart. Boss got lost in the details. This was when the band came into his life. It was a way out of the wreck his parents were slowly creating around him, the life that would be spent in tribute to the lost son who wasn't really lost so much as just gone. Boss became Boss again, picked up where he left off when he didn't have to worry about walking on eggshells all day. Music was always something he'd been passionate about but never really thought would become anything. But being in the band gave him a reason to use all the energy that had built up inside him, to run around screaming again and get paid for it. Turns out, being lighthearted was much easier for him than carrying around the weight that Tyler had given him. When given the weight his brother use to carry around, Boston followed in his brother's footsteps and got out while the going was good.
The difference between leaving like Tyler did in the middle of the night and what Boston did was that Boss never meant to hurt anyone. Time didn't stop because his parents wanted it to, and Boss couldn't be put on hold until someone was available to see him. So he left with promises to keep in touch, which he has yet to break. His own modest apartment probably didn't give Boss any reason to be as happy as he was, but there was something in the freedom that the boy prospered in. So he does the shows with the happy energy that others might not have been able to produce every night but that Boston thought was as important to him as breathing. The lifestyle of the clubs and bars suited him, so very few people around him were ever sad or sitting still. It, along with the days spent roaming any park or patch of nature he could find, suited Boss just fine. The few precious things he had were held close to his chest. His friends, the band, the places around him. All things he isn't as willing to give up as he was with the ghost that use to be his family. These were things that made Boss who he was, gave the bright personality a reason to shine. He's always been a people person, happy to just be doing something no matter the company.
likes: girls, concerts, people/crowds, parks, beaches, any bit of nature really, music, parties, bars, clubs, his band mates, friends, most anyone who talks to him nicely, ketchup chips
dislikes: sitting still, rundown parts of cities, long lectures, rainy days, tea, quiet places like libraries, quiet people, his brother a bit for leaving him behind [/ul]
