HISTORY;
annabelle windsor's mother was a whore.
really. it's just a fact. it doesn't bother her. it's sort of common knowledge.
it also sort of makes her dad a man whore, too. but hey, what kind of guy doesn't turn down an easy, gorgeous gal? annie probably has other siblings, somewhere out there. it's a miracle that she herself was even purebred, just lucky that her mom and dad ended up being shifters. but, yeah, her mother getting pregnant was really just a fluke. and she sure as hell didn't want the kid. but annie's dad was a good old southern gentleman at heart, and didn't want to give up his daughter. so he took her when miss mom hit the road again, to some other town, to some other place.
annabelle grew up a daddy's girl, she and her father got along fantastically 100% of the time. as she grew up, her dad "homeschooled" her. (not really...) he was a trucker, so he just piled her up in the truck and they went cross-country together. he never kept her true nature a secret from her;; from day one, when annabelle first found herself with little black paws and twitching red ears, it was completely okay.
annie always had a pretty morbid fascination with medical shtuff. she'd pile in tons of anatomical books from the library in her site, and dutifully recite line by line to her dad. truthfully, it made him quezy. but along all the stops, she always found some trucker who shared her intrest, and had some real-world antidotes to tell her about, something she could use more often. (you'd be surprised how many truckers would turn out to be supernatural) honestly, after all that time, annie could probably save someone's life with just a bobby pin. and common sense helps too.
years of spending time with others and herself, encouraging what she could do, she's almost completely mastered her skills. she grew up in the canine family, but she has also had much work with shifting into the aviary realm as well. she spends most of her time as either a vulture or a kalak; a weird wolf/fox sort of thing. both are carrion animals, seen as the bottom of the food chain and mostly overlooked. that's kind of annie's point for shifting into them; she's spent all her life open about what she is, so she'll keep it that way. as such disliked creatures she can still be what she wants and be above suspicion.
when annie was 17 she kissed her dad goodbye and hoped off at whatever town they were in. it just happened to be boston. after spending a day parading around, annie quickly grew tired of the town. it was much too hustle and bustle for her relaxed taste, so she hit the road as a coyote, and eventually found her way into the cape of the state. she fit in just as well as she would like, except for a few minor bumps on the road, the goodness bad news deal.
the first was prostitution. good news, she got a pretty handsome chunk of change. bad news, it was not a pretty job.
the second was singing and joining a band. good news, she found something she loved to do. bad news, denver. actually, he in himself was good news and bad news.
good news, she loved him, maybe.
