sometimes we take chancesSOMETIMES WE TAKE PILLS The night started off great for Abby. Boss was sweet as ever and they were getting along great. Nothing complicated with him. Just simple and easy. She was less lonely and felt like she was wanted somewhere. She had seen Boss and told him she was going out with Annie tonight. They were going to have some much needed girl time and they got to play ketchup, which is Abby's way of trying to make a game out of it. Just the fact that she gave it a punny name, was a game enough for her. Abby felt like she never really got to hang out with Annie anymore. There was always someone else there, so it was nice that this time it was just them. Evan and Fee were great and she loved them both, but Annie was her first real friend so she got some claim to her, which meant she made her go out with her alone. Drink for hours talking about everything and at some point the everythings turned into nothings and somethings. Abby needed to talk about Boss and everything that was going on with them, and she wanted to hear about how Annie and Denny were doing. So, shots were the best way. But that was the begging of the night and now Abby didn't know where she was anymore. Had they walked to a different bar? Or maybe they were still in the same bar but it just looks different depending on how many drinks a person had.
Abby looked around the bar and felt out of sorts. There was so much alcohol in her system she couldn't in see straight let alone walk straight. Once the voices in her head got too loud for her to think, she knew it was just about time to go home. Abby never took into consideration that she was going to start hearing a lot more voices the more shots and took. That was always something and managed to leave out of the equation. She looked over to her best friend next to her. Annie was just as wasted as she was, and laughing at something. Abby was looking around trying to find some sort of a door. She had to get out of here. She grabbed Annie's arm as she got off the bar stool. Her legs slipped off the bars of the stool and she want down. Her other hand was attached to the Bar so there was more support there than there was with Annie's arm. There was way too much going on right now for her. She had no idea what time it was. She couldn't even remember what time they got there or how long were they there for. Time was escaping her. Minutes, seconds, and hours were blurring together. And not just time but figures and people and voices. There was this hum in the air and between her ears. Abby wasn't quite sure how to handle anything. There was a big enough challenge getting off of the bar stool.
She was still holding onto Annie after she got her balance, so she pulled on her so she was pulling her to the door. Abby looked at the people around her and started laughing. There was something funny about seeing people act wasted when you were also in that boat. She laughed and laughed and laughed. She looked crazy to the people around her, she could tell from their thoughts, but she didn't really care. She stopped caring about people long ago. Their thoughts about her meant nothing to her at this point. She still had Annie's arm and waited to trip over her so they would both lose their balance and fall over each other and not find their way back up. It had happened before and they laughed for what seemed like ever but she could hardly even remember that now. She was drunk when that happened and she was overly drunk now. Her movements seemed slow but yet too fast. Her legs were stopped listening and she stumbled her way to the door holding onto Annie. "We need-d-d a cab." Abby said to Annie. The words in her mouth were slurred and she tripped over second word she attempt to say. There was no way she was going to be able to walk the three miles to her house in this state, and Annie didn't look much better. Abby tripped over the opening of the door before she fully made it out side and waited to see if Annie wanted to go home, or back to Abby's place. And because Abby didn't want to he lonely, she didn't really give Annie much of a choice.

[/img] It was good to get out with Abby. It was almost like a bachelorette party that Annie had skipped out on in her mad dash to just get married already. Being with Abby was always something relaxing, even if it could be dangerous with the way they got so, so messed up that their heads hurt and they just laughed until they coughed up blood. And everything was slammed and Annie’s head was hurting half way through the night. Her endurance for this kind of thing was wicked low; she couldn’t even remember the last time she’d gone outside of the apartment with an intention other than shifting, let alone drinking. She was kind of wasting away in bed all the time, trying to think of ways to occupy herself until Denny came home from work, and then there were so many ways to occupy the time. But it seemed like those hours always felt too short; he didn’t get home until later, and he still had to go to bed at a reasonable time so that he could leave early, always having to wake up Annie and tell her that he was going to she wouldn’t be upset when she woke up alone. That always left her upset either way, and Annie didn’t want to think about that right now. To be honest, she didn’t even know where Denny was, she didn’t know where she was. She was just aware of her head feeling very far away and she was laughing really loud and Abby was leaning all her weight on Annie.
Abby started pulling her to the door, and for some reason that was really funny and Annie let out a peal of laughter. She listened to Abby trip over her words. ”No s-shit, S-sherlock” Her tongue slipped up on the s’s, and so what sounded even in her head was actually slippery and greasy coming out of her mouth. She felt a tug at her shoulder and turned around, this small smile on her lips because Annie was content with things in that moment. She looked into the face of some dude, his expression shadowed by a dim lit bar and Annie’s drunken vision. He kept saying things and Annie shook her head. ”No, I have, I ha-have to go.” He didn’t let go of her elbow, and Annie’s eyes narrowed. That was when the wishing that Denny was there set in. That was when she regretted going out with her best friend and would rather be home with her husband – which was weird enough to think – and not here with a random guy wanting her to go home. It had been so long since Annie had been in this situation, even longer since she had accepted it. She let go of Abby and pushed him roughly. It wasn’t a very strong thing because Annie wasn’t very strong these days, not to mention her mind was overwhelmed by tides of patron, but the surprise of the action made this guy let go of her, and Annie turned back and let Abby lean against her again. ”Come on,” she dragged out the ‘on’ and stumbled over ending it with the ‘n’. Finessing her speech wasn’t exactly high on the list of priorities for the moment. ”I got s-some cash, let’s-s go to your place. It’s clos-ser.” S’s were always Annie’s biggest weakness when she was drunk.
Once they were in the cab, Annie pulled out her phone to call Denny. She leaned against Abby while she waited. Before he even said anything, Annie spoke. "Denny, I looove you," she said, giggling. "Annie, it's almost two am. Where are you?" She giggles again, and her voice was nonchalant "Just got a cab." She felt like she knew Denny too well and could feel him sit up, get all worried. His voice was harsh. "Where the he'll are you?" Annie felt taken aback, and her tone when and spoke again suggested he should calm down. "Going to Abby's." the s got caught in teeth and so it was long and she sounded like she was whining. She heard his sigh through the phone, and she sighed too, moving her body so she wasn't leaning on Abby, and ran her fingers through the other girl's hair. "How much have you had to drink?" Annie giggled loudly. "Umm, lots." She looked at Abby and giggles again. On the other end she heard some unhappy silence. Annie hadn't gone out in forever, and she frowned with the way she knew Denny didn't like this. "Do you need me to come get you?" Annie sighed a demeaning sigh that basically spoke her thoughts; god, weren't you listening to me? "No, I just said we're going to Abby's." She said it firmly to try and get that idea in his head. "Fine then. If you need me, call me. I'll see you after work." He sounded pissed and Annie didn't like the sound of him being pissed. Her whole demeanor softened and her voice was quiet and small when she spoke again. "...I love you." She could almost see the little smile that tugged at his lips because he always did that when she said those words, no matter how mad he was. "I love you too. Night." Annie mentally panicked; she didn't want to stop hearing his voice. "Denny, I really love you, ok? You know that, right?" her panic was slightly evident in her voice. "Yeah, I know. I really love you too Annie."
he sighed, and Annie just felt worse. She got really quiet and dropped her hand that was in Abby's hair to her own lap. "I'm sorry." she sounded dejected. "Sorry for what?" he sounded tired. "I don't know. I feel like you're mad at me." there was the silence of something not being said, and Annie's mind traveled back to the guy at the door of the bar. "Well I can't blame you for wanting to get out while I'm at work. I'm not mad, but is something wrong?" Annie just fessed up because she didn't usually bullshit things or hide the truth when she was drunk. "Someone tried to get with me." His response was immediate, "Who?" Annie sighed. "Some guy." she sounded kind of resigned about it. "Annie this is serious I have asses to kick now." she smiled and laughed, playing with the end of her skirt in her hands. "I don't know, but I pushed him and he left. And I miss you." He seemed calmer when he spoke. "Good. I was afraid I was gonna have to take another trip in the back of a cop car," he sighed and Annie was kind of put off that he'd said that. "I miss you, too. And I love you." Annie smiled because she couldn't help it. "Don't say stuff like that, okay? And I love you too. I'll see you in the morning." she said, wrapping it up because the cab was outside Abby's now. She hung up and put the phone in her pocket, handing some bills to the driver before opening the door on Abby's side and basically shoving her out. "Come on," she slurred "We need our beauty sleep." -[/blockquote][/blockquote]
